BRIDAL

Celebrant

This elopement in the Amalfi Coast, Italy, was something out of a dream. Emily and Ryan, from New Zealand, decided to spend a few months traveling across Europe and Asia and what better place than Italy to elope and get married?

The couple fell in love with the beautiful coastline around Amalfi the first time they visited, a few years back, and knew instantly that it was the perfect place to return to and celebrate their love.

Talented wedding planner Marigiulia planned and styled for them the most memorable of days, which included a ceremony in a hidden gem location between Ravello and Amalfi, a boat ride to Positano and an intimate dinner in a secluded bay along the coast.

Stunning Emily wears a gorgeous silk gown and organza top designed by Brook Tyson Ritual, that she brought all the way from New Zealand. Her gorgeous bouquet, made by Sartoria Sentimentale, was solid white with roses and orchidea.

Emily, who is a graphic designer, had a very unique and precise vision for her elopement day and was great in communicating with me and letting me know what she had in mind.

The minimalist bridal colour palette perfectly matched the pastel tones of the Amalfi Coast architecture as well as the zaphyre blue Mediterranean sea. If you want to do things in style, definitely be inspired by Emily's choices.

After getting ready at their hotel in Amalfi, the couple spent some time exploring Amalfi and then set off to their ceremony venue, which is only a short drive away. The tortuous path that leads to the site, crossed by donkeys carrying heavy loads, vaguely reminds of Greece. The basilica ruins themselves are unreal and so is the breath-taking view overlooking the Mediterranean sea below.

Emily and Ryan walked together to the middle of the basilica and read their heartfelt vows to each other. Celebrant Carmela then conducted a ritual that involved symbolic hand tying.

After the ceremony, a short drive back to the Amalfi marina to get on a private boat that sailed off to Positano at sunset. From the boat, Emily and Ryan had the opportunity to admire the coast like never before and even popped a bottle of Prosecco to celebrate.

Once arrived in Positano, which is one of Emily's favourite places ever, we stopped to enjoy the moment and take some glorious couple portraits. Once beginning to get dark, the boat took them to a hidden bay where an intimate dinner was awaiting them.

The couple ended the day enjoying some delicious local wine and food delicacies. This was an epic day filled with memories that they will treasure forever.
