Olivia and Martin got married in York on a gorgeous spring day in April after having to postpone their initial wedding date – but in the end this was for the best as the couple’s special day was blessed with blossoming trees and lots of sunshine.
Olivia was wearing a gorgeous wedding gown designed by Halfpenny London and a beautiful bouquet made by Willow & Bear Floral Design. The couple decided that the ancient Yorkshire town, in which they live, was the perfect place to celebrate their love with their closest friends and family.
After spending some time visiting their favourite spots in York city centre, including St William’s College and the famous York Minster Cathedral, Olivia and Martin went to York’s Registry Office to pronounce their vows.
Following the ceremony we went to Museum Gardens to take some more photos with family and friends and then everyone moved to Bedern Hall for the wedding reception. This stunning historical venue is perfect for intimate weddings and events, with huge glass windows that let in lots of sunlight to illuminate the beautiful interior.
At the reception everyone enjoyed an afternoon tea that included delicious pastries and pies, followed by Olivia and Martin ending the celebrations of their intimate wedding day with cake cutting and speeches.
I absolutely adored photographing this wedding and if you are also looking to get married or elope in York and you like my photography style, get in touch – I will be honoured to be your photographer!
