Rachel always wanted a dreamy Mediterranean wedding like the one in the Mamma Mia! musical. Her dream came true, not in Greece but in the equally stunning town of Praiano in the Amalfi Coast.
This couple received so much support and understanding from their loved ones, who respected their decision to do things differently and without hesitating, hopped on a plane from the US and travelled to this small hidden gem of Italy. With Positano, Amalfi and Ravello typically attracting more tourism, Praiano definitely offers a more authentic and relaxed vibe. Just keep in mind it's very uphill!
Rachel & Tyler both share some Italian heritage and family members, so it made perfect sense for them to tie the knot in one of the most beautiful areas of Italy. In June temperatures are already very high, so they opted for a late afternoon ceremony to avoid the peak of the heat. Rachel's father married them and the couple read personalised vows to each other. Rachel looked absolutely stunning in her Hart gown by Grace Loves Lace.
The ceremony and reception location is "Casa Bianca" and it's an Airbnb in front of one of the main town squares, with incredible views on the sea below. All food and drinks were prepared by a local chef and they are as traditional as it gets: Aperol Spritz, Prosecco, local wine, caprese salad, prosciutto and melon, arancini, focaccia, pasta and fresh fish! You can tell that Italian food was a central part of this wedding.
After their portraits down at the Marina di Praiano, where the sea front restaurants and small beach are, the couple continued their wedding celebrations with various toasts and dancing the night away to their favourite music, surrounded by their families and best friends. Just perfetto!
