DESTINATION WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY ON FILM
I’m based in the UK but I grew up in Italy and I’m bilingual. I’m a reportage wedding photographer, or you could call me an unobtrusive observer.
Shooting on a mix of digital and analogue, my work aspires to be timeless and true-to-colour. My go-to film stocks for wedding work are Kodak Portra for colour and Ilford for black and white but I occasionally like to experiment with Cinestill and more!
My priority is to focus on storytelling through observation and capturing details and moments as they unfold naturally, with little interference. I think portraiture is an important part of the documentation but I like to keep things authentic and provide only gentle guidance when needed.
My clients are typically laid back, love to travel and many of them are of mixed heritage and nationalities or they live or have lived abroad. They often have an interest in the arts or are creatives themselves, perhaps professionally or just snapping away with a film camera during their travels.

"Sarah was exceptional! She made every detail feel so special - from the curated pre-wedding gifts and messages, to her organization leading up to our special day, to the beautiful photos she captured that we will cherish for a lifetime. Sarah has a true gift for capturing love and life and was such a joy to have as part of our wedding day!"

"Sarah has been amazing since the moment we asked her to be our wedding photographer! From the welcome pack she sent us, the various video calls, her professionalism to scope out the venues to find the best spots ahead of the wedding, to understanding exactly the type of wedding we wanted and putting us at ease on the day with her friendly and natural approach to photography. Sarah has captured our wedding perfectly - so talented with both digital and film photography. Our family and friends have even commented how fun and friendly Sarah was and can’t stop looking over the photos. Highly recommend - thank you Sarah, we love every photo!"

"The absolute best!! Not only is Sarah the absolute sweetest person, but she is beyond talented. I live in Miami, FL and found her on Instagram and knew we had to hire her to shoot our small wedding in Rome. She went above and beyond to make sure our special day was perfect."

FAQs

I manage all bookings through a CRM and I have an automated workflow for each wedding that guarantees a smooth experience. When you reach out to me, I recommend a discovery call as a first step to get to know each other and have a chat about your wedding and photography vision. After that, I will put together a quote (or more than one) that you can review. If you accept it, I will issue an invoice and agreement. The payment schedule is a 25% retainer when you book and 75% 30 days before the wedding. Reminders are issued automatically by the booking system.

Yes. When you receive a quote from me, that's the final price that includes all of my expenses and there will be no added costs at any point unless you purchase extras later on. Taxes are also included.
-
A second photographer can be very useful in some situations. For example, when you want some extra digital photos whilst I focus mainly on film, when you and your partner are getting ready in two different locations. When your guest count is very high (100+). When you’d like different angles of the ceremony and reception to be captured (from a balcony, from the ground). Ultimately it comes down to personal preference and available budget.
-
Depending on film developing times, how busy I am during the wedding season and how many digital photos require editing, waiting time varies but you are guaranteed to receive your full gallery after a maximum of 12 weeks.
-
For a full day wedding (10 hours), you can expect around 500 high resolution film scans, mainly shot on 35mm film and some on medium format 120 film. You can purchase extra packs of film (5) if you’d like more. I will deliver some digital photos as well and the number varies according to wedding size, coverage length and whether there was a second photographer or if I was working solo.
-
By default, I like to keep things as natural and spontaneous as possible. This means reserving some time for portraits but with reduced intervention and letting you express yourselves. If you’d like to have some editorial inspired photos, I recommend planning them ahead of the wedding and I will gently guide you on the day. However, every couple is different and some prefer more direction whilst others none at all and exclusive focus on candid moments. I will make sure to discuss this with you ahead of your wedding.
-
Yes, I have worldwide coverage for all of my equipment as well as public liability. Make sure to check with your venue if they require a certificate as I will be able to provide it if needed.
-
I am always happy to recommend trusted vendors that are part of my international network. I offer photography related advice when planning your wedding day and if you are eloping I will assist you in developing an itinerary for the day. I’m afraid I can’t contact vendors on your behalf.
-
I don’t offer this service at the moment - my hands are already full! I only shoot analogue and some digital photographs. If you are looking for a videographer for your wedding or elopement, please let me know as I am able to provide recommendations in various regions, including super8 and camcorder video specialists.
-
Yes but this is not always guaranteed. Drones are not always permitted to fly due to local laws and restrictions as well as the weather conditions on the day. If I can fly, aerial photos will be a nice addition to your gallery.
-
Yes, but please note that I take a limited amount of weddings yearly with online sharing restrictions and once I have reached my quota, I will not be able to accept any more.
